British Transplant Games
The British Transplant Games (BTG) are a celebration of life. The Games see teams from across the UK come together to compete in a medley of sports. Their main aim is to raise awareness of the need for organ donation, encourage transplant recipients to lead active lifestyles and show appreciation for, and remember their donors and their families. Every year we send a team of transplanted athletes, living donors and supporters to the games. The games are also open to transplantees who and are now back on dialysis, TSNI can arrange a dialysis at a local hospital for you. You can compete in all of the sports detailed in our sports section.
You can compete in 4 events over the course of the Games. It is important to note that you cannot compete in 2 different sports in a day. i.e one sport per day.BTG is a 4-day event which attracts around 1000 transplant athletes and more than 1700 supporters.
TSNI actively encourage supporters to come along. They have shared our transplant journey and are a key part of our rehabilitation post transplant.You do not have to be sporty, there is a wide range of sports/activities that you can participate in. The main aim of the Games is to encourage transplant recipients to become a more active but primarily the Games are about having fun, meeting people who have been through a similar life journey and celebrating our donors.
You do not need to meet any qualifying standards to participate Any paid up member of TSN can attend the Games.TSNI have team kit which we travel and compete in.
You will be supplied with this kit when you become a member of the charity.
If you are a member of TSNI you will receive emails/information on our members hub which will give you details of how to register. Prior to the Games we always hold a meeting outlining information about upcoming Games.
