Football World Cup

A group of soccer players and coaches posing for a team photo on a soccer field, some kneeling and others standing, with a goal behind them. The players are wearing green and black striped jerseys, and one person is wearing a red goalkeeper jersey. The background includes a stadium with advertisements and spectators.

Every two years we send a team of footballers to the Transplant World Cup. The team is a mixed gender team made up of footballers who have had a solid organ or stem cell transplant.

The competition is a weeklong event showcasing the power of organ donation through the beautiful game. The football team train regularly and compete across Ireland and Great Britain.

A maximum squad of 16 is selected to represent Northern Ireland at the World Cup. Full details are provided in the membership hub.
