Sporting opportunities for transplant recipients
& living donors in northern ireland
About
Transplant Sport Northern Ireland
Transplant Sport Northern Ireland was established in 2008 by transplant recipients and best friends Janet Coleman, Andrew and Myra Weir. Their drive and enthusiasm to create a charity dedicated to providing transplant recipients in Northern Ireland with sporting opportunities gives us the thriving organisation we have today.
We provide sporting opportunities for solid organ, stem cell recipients, living donors and those waiting for these transplants.
Today we have transplant recipients taking part socially and competing in a wide variety of sports, including track and field, swimming, cycling, triathlon, bowls, pétanque, golf, race walking and darts.
Support us
As a charity, we organise fundraising events throughout the year. Our members also fundraise on an individual basis. Examples of some of the fund raising events we do are Collections, marathons, cycling sportives and pub quizzes.
